DJ JJ

DJ JJ, born James Hale, emerged deck-first into the music industry at the youthful age of just 14, plummeting into east London’s beloved (and now dearly departed) record shop Rhythm Division selling CDs to lovers of UK music and networking with number one artists such as Dizzie Rascal and Tinchy Stryder.

Shortly after (AGED WHAT?!) JJ's talent on the decks, determination and love for music was recognised by Rinse FM founderGeeneus and he was invited onto the show to spin some Grime, Dubstep, House and Funky music for the (WHAT LISTENERS? MORNING/DAYTIME/NIGHTTIME?)

Comfortable holding the (WHAT TIME SLOT DID U HAVE BEFORE) Rinse FM slot gave JJ the time to not only show off his mixing skills but also have chats with (ARTISTS WHO CAME ON YOUR SHOW?) as well as becoming the official DJ for the O.G'z crew (P Money, JendorLittle DeeBlacks etc). As if traveling around England and DJing at popular events such as Glastonbury Festival,Ministry of SoundFabric and the 02 Arena wasn't keeping him busy enough, JJ opened massive concerts for the likes of TheGameFlo-Rida and Jagged Edge in 2009-2010 and was a guest on radio stations such as Radio 1 and 1Xtra on shows for TimWestwoodMistaJam and DJ Target.

Now currently only 21 years of age and still DJing at club tours with GhettsWileyJ2kSkepta and JME to name a few, and holding down his popular 5pm-7pm Rinse show every Wednesday, JJ has co-foundered the record label Pitch Controllers with fellow Rinse DJ's SpyroVectraSilencer and Maximum. Pitch Controllers is all about working with artists to put out the music the fans want (but would normally never get a release), holding raves (so far one at The Den and one at The Old Blue reaching just over 700 people in total) and future plans to collaborate with universities offering courses which lead to accreditation in DJing and Music Production.

I think it's safe to say there are massive things to come from the inspiring young pioneer so… watch this space!

Catch JJ on Rinse FM every Wednesday 5-7pm playing the best in Grime, Dubstep, House & Funky House.
